SketchUp Asg. #4 Tiny Home
Assignment 4
In this assignment I built a tiny home on a trailer I uploaded from the program. I built the outside walls, then I placed in all the components so I could plan where I wanted the windows and doors and wall for the bathroom. In the bathroom I put in a shower, sink, toilet and a small shelf. I also built storage above the bathroom an put it in its own layer so I could hide in certain scenes.
In the living area I put in a couch, TV on a stand, a area rug, a lamp/shelf and a small desk/chair. In the kitchen I put in a kitchen package with a fridge, stove, cupboards, sink, shelves and a small kitchen table/chairs. I built a loft above the kitchen with a double bed, a sliding ladder and a dresser which I also put in another layer to hide in scenes.
I built a roof and also put in its own layer and was able to hide it from some scenes so could see the inside. Finally I worked on the outside, I loaded a step with deck base which I was placed close to the house. I added in a bench, a fire pit, some chairs, trees, a driveway and a truck and I placed some grass with a flower pot with sitting area. around the fire pit.
I also added 35 scenes with a bunch of different effects with the styles option, mixing in a couple with 2 styles into a scene. I used the shadow setting and was able to use shadows in some scenes and not in others where i found it being too much. Some of the components I had to explode to delete a part or change it. I used many of the features like the zoom tool, rotate tool, move tool, magnify tool, pencil tool, tape measure tool to put windows in, push/pull tool, the pan tool, and the orbit tool.

This assignment was a lot of work and I spent many hours on it. Had some difficulties here and there but managed to figure things out along the way. This is a similar program we use in the school, the one we have is Rivet. I do find this program easier than that program but doubt the school would change it.

Hey Lance,
ReplyDeleteJust starting the project. Your tiny house looks unreal. Definitely looking at this for inspiration.
Yours looks great Lance! Only thing really missing is a beer fridge on the deck!
ReplyDeleteVery good job Lance. I like how you incorporated the deck, that's a real good idea.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I like the lawn and trees out front! Good idea :)
