Assignment 5 Shotcut: Video/Information/plans

Image
Assignment 5 Cinematography:    24/25 - We used all types of angles and shots including text, picture in picture, split screen Pre-production:  14/15 - included planning sheet of evidence of learning along with pics as evidence of work. Programs:  20/20 - Made many attempts at making this asg. Used many functions in the  program. Used Audacity as well to insert bensound sound clip and audio file. Final Product:  23/25 - Overall happy with it, I would of like to make some minor changes but program wasn't working to full potential. Freezing and shutting down a lot. Overall Quality:  14/15 - Well thought out and very useful for teaching in the classroom. 95/100 This is the start of our assignment, storyboard for something to follow. Worked on filming last night and we made notes and changes as necessary. We had 68 video clips of footage to use in this assignment, we had a still camera from different angles and John used a camer...

Blog Post 12

Blog 12 Write a blog post about the ShotCut Program, How easy was it to use and how helpful was the training. After these short training videos how easily do you anticipate completing Assignment #5 Video. Take a good look at the assignment itself and maybe post some ideas about the lesson or tutorial you are planning on creating. Maybe also comment on how this could be applied to education or classes you may teacher. ShotCut is another free tool that is Cross Platform meaning it doesn't matter if you have a Mac or a PC. The ShotCut training was short clips describing the how to use the program. I watched them twice now and also a few others on YouTube making notes along the way. The program itself doesn't seem to difficult to understand, although the work involved to get to a finished product is.  The lesson that John Germs and I have chosen is how to use a plasma cutting machine. This is a new machine in my shop that we never had and wanted to make something worthwh...

SketchUp Asg. #4 Tiny Home

Image
Assignment 4 In this assignment I built a tiny home on a trailer I uploaded from the program. I built the outside walls, then I placed in all the components so I could plan where I wanted the windows and doors and wall for the bathroom. In the bathroom I put in a shower, sink, toilet and a small shelf. I also built storage above the bathroom an put it in its own layer so I could hide in certain scenes.  In the living area I put in a couch, TV on a stand, a area rug, a lamp/shelf and a small desk/chair. In the kitchen I put in a kitchen package with a fridge, stove, cupboards, sink, shelves and a small kitchen table/chairs. I built a loft above the kitchen with a double bed, a sliding ladder and a dresser which I also put in another layer to hide in scenes.  I built a roof and also put in its own layer and was able to hide it from some scenes so could see the inside. Finally I worked on the outside, I loaded a step with deck base which I was placed close to the house...

Blog 10 Sketchup

Blog 10 I have  been working with the SketchUp program for a few weeks now, The course video seemed easy enough to follow, had no problems while following along.  Then I started my tiny house assignment, I found out how to load a trailer to put tiny home on, Had a few problems getting the walls figured out at first to put on to the trailer but figured it out.  I built the outer walls first, then I began planning where things will go like the bathroom and kitchen.  I put the kitchen at one end and the bathroom at the other.  I imported the components and placed them where I wanted, thus helping me figure where other things will go. Once I had the bathroom and kitchen done, I loaded the couch and TV and moved things around to fit and have good flow. Once I was happy with the design I built a wall for the bathroom.  Next I began to install windows and doors, this is where I had difficulty, it took me over a week to finally figure out what I ...

Blog 9 Design Thinking

Blog 9 After looking at the PDF file, I found this particular tool is used to develop solutions to problems - everyday problems.  Using 5 steps to help solve the problem, sometimes going back and reflecting, changing too meet the needs of the specific person or idea. I see this valuable in the classroom/education as its makes the students look at real word problems and taking all their ideas and narrowing it to something that could work, testing the idea and either keeping it or making changes.  Getting the students to think, work together, cooperate and build something for the future.  I use a small part of his teaching in my classroom, as I begin with smaller (easier welds) skills in the beginning to get students comfortable and feeling successful before moving on to the more challenging welds.  This process is also similar to the program some of us are doing in the school. It is called Follow the Voices. We just started it this year, its geared at us...
